Ambassador Andris Razāns was born in 1967 in Balvi, Latvia. In 1993 he received Master`s Degree in history from the University of Latvia. He has studied at the University of Stockholm and at Lund`s University, Sweden.
In 1993 he joined the Latvian Foreign Service. Has served as Ambassador of Latvia to the Kingdom of Denmark, Morocco, Mexico and the United States of America. Ambassador Razāns has served as Political Director of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has served as Diplomatic Advisor of two Presidents and two Prime Ministers of Latvia. Currently he is the Director of Policy Planning of the Latvian MFA, and he is the Head of the Latvian delegation to International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA).
