Vice-Rector of Art Academy of Latvia, Professor, started his working path at the Art Academy of Latvia in 1993. Since then he gained doctoral degree (2010) and professorship (2014) in the Art History and Visual Semiotics. He was appointed as a Vice-Rector of the Art Academy of Latvia in 2007 and reappointed again in 2017.
Andris Teikmanis was elected and re-elected as a Member of Council of Higher Education of Latvia by the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia in 2012 and 2016 respectively. Andris Teikmanis is holding position as a Latvian Representative Member of Horizon 2020 Program Committee for SC6: Europe in a changing world – Inclusive, Innovative and Reflective Societies since 2014; he is also holding positions of the Chairman of Latvian Council of Cultural (Art) Education since 2015 and the Chairman of Latvian Council of Visual Arts since 2014 and is also member of the Latvian National Culture Council since 2014.
