Dr. Jurģis Šķilters

Jurģis Šķilters is professor at the Faculty of Computing and the Chair of the Laboratory for Perceptual and Cognitive Systems. He has been director, co-director, and Principal Investigator of numerous international research projects. He holds a doctorate from the University of Mainz. Among the positions that he has hold in the past are visiting professorships in Europe and the USA.

His primary areas of interests are Spatial Cognition, Visual Perception, Formal Semantics, Psycholinguistics, and Topological Modeling. He is the founding Editor-In-Chief of The Baltic International Yearbook of Cognition, Logic and Communication. Prof. Jurģis Šķilters has established the first Cognitive Science research and academic center in Baltic area.
