Deputy Vice Rector for Studies and Science of Daugavpils University (DU), professor of DU, research fellow of the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia, academician of Latvian Academy of Sciences. Most recent research experience is related to the 20th–21st century Latvian literature history; Baltic – Nordic literary contacts; issues of Modernism and Modernity, literary genres, hybridity, diaspora.
Author of 2 monographs and more than 200 publications, including papers in editions indexed in Web of Science and SCOPUS. Member of the Latvian Writers’ Union (since 2016). Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of DU (2013 – 2017), the head of the Promotion Council in Literary Studies of DU (since 2015). Director of the Doctoral study programme „Literary Science” (since 2012). Editor in chief of the journal “Comparative Studies” and collection of research papers “Literature & Culture: Process, Interaction, Problems”.
